Star Party at Palmer Observatory
Free telescope viewing at the Museum of Natural History
The Museum's Palmer Observatory opens its doors and roof for a night of stargazing through its 20-inch telescope. Museum Astronomy Programs staff and members of the Santa Barbara Astronomical Unit point out craters on the Moon, nebulae, galaxies and more.
The monthly Star Party is free and suits all ages, with no tickets or registration. It may be canceled for clouds or rain. Don't arrive before the start time; the last hour is usually quieter for those who stay late. The next one is Saturday, December 12.
