Debates on Draft: Will We Reach Our 2035 Climate Goals?
Leah Stokes vs. Becky Chaplin-Kramer at Validation Ale
NCEAS and the UCSB Affiliates bring a live climate debate to Validation Ale in the Funk Zone. UCSB environmental politics professor Leah Stokes, co-host of the podcast A Matter of Degrees and author of The Carbon Wave, argues that we can still hit our 2035 climate targets; World Wildlife Fund's global biodiversity lead scientist Becky Chaplin-Kramer argues we can't.
The audience votes before and after, with opening arguments, a moderated discussion, rapid-fire questions and time for your own questions. The winner is whoever changes the most minds. Registration is requested through the event page.
